Bin collection day changes - Kishorn is only affected by the Wednesday 2nd January change to Saturday 5th.
News just in this evening - the world’s largest semi-submersible offshore drilling rig ‘Ocean Greatwhite’ is currently heading for Kishorn.
The 60,800t rig will be undergoing work at the Kishorn Port Ltd drydock to make it ready for a new North Sea drilling programme and is due to arrive in Kishorn at the end of December/start of January.
Alexander MacInnes (SNP) has been elected to the Highland Council after the Ward 5 communities went to the polls to vote in a new councillor.
The by-election was triggered by the resignation of Cllr Kate Stephen in October.
Alexander MacInnes will join fellow Ward 5 councillors Biz Campbell (Independent), Dr Ian Cockburn (SNP) and Derek Macleod (Scottish Conservatives) in representing one of the biggest council wards in the UK.
|| BY-ELECTION POLLING DAY ||
Thursday 6th December - Ward 5.
I would encourage everyone to go and use their vote tomorrow - if you want a change in the Highland Council then you must choose the candidate you think would best represent the area! Polling stations are open 7am until 10pm.
Voting is with numbers, ordering a candidate/candidates in order of your preference. For example, you could choose just one candidate and put a number ‘1’ next to their name leaving the other names blank. Or if you want to choose multiple candidates, number ‘1’ is your first choice, number ‘2’ is your second choice and so on.
Polling station for Kishorn is at Lochcarron Village Hall.
